Fairy tales and the unconscious . Rafael Bqueer

Fairy tales constitute the symbolic account of the accumulated experience about life—a product of the collective unconscious. They have their own narrative structure and the same roles for different characters, besides being full of symbols, which lead us to archetypes. When comparing fairy tales to alchemical operations, one can perceive that both point to the path of transformation of the individual from the state of “rough stone” to the fusion of consciousness and the core of one’s self, that is, the achievement of individuation, the alchemists’ philosopher’s stone.
